How to Check This Week’s Supermarket Offers

Use this checklist when reviewing a supermarket’s current offers. This is a comparison guide, not a live price roundup.

Start with your shopping list

Compare items you already intend to buy. Buying an extra product solely to unlock a discount can increase your total spend.

Compare unit prices

Compare price per kilogram, litre or item using the same units. For example, 500 g for £2 costs £4/kg; 750 g for £2.70 costs £3.60/kg. The larger pack is better value only if you will use it.

Check loyalty and multibuy conditions

Confirm that you qualify for a loyalty price and that the promotion covers the exact variant you choose. For a multibuy, compare the required quantity against a cheaper single-item alternative.

Check current retailer information

Use the retailer’s official website, app or shelf label to confirm the price and end date. Online and in-store prices, stock and delivery charges can differ.

Compare the full basket

Include travel or delivery costs and the value of any substitutions. Keep a screenshot of the offer terms and check your receipt.
