Stacking Vouchers, Cashback & Loyalty Points

Discounts can sometimes be combined, but each promotion’s terms decide what qualifies.

Check compatibility first

Read whether a voucher excludes sale prices, other codes, cashback or loyalty redemptions. Check whether cashback is calculated before or after discounts and whether a third-party voucher invalidates it.

Check the final checkout price

Add only the items you need, apply the permitted voucher and confirm that any minimum spend is still met. Keep delivery charges separate when the terms exclude them.

Treat cashback as pending

A tracked claim is not necessarily approved. Keep the receipt and follow the provider’s claim procedure. Do not count pending cashback as money already received.

A worked example

A £30 basket with a valid £3 voucher costs £27 at checkout. If the terms also allow £2 cashback and the claim is approved, the eventual cost is £25. Loyalty points have separate redemption rules and should not be treated as a cash refund.

Keep a record

Save the terms, order confirmation and claim reference. Contact the relevant retailer or provider if a qualifying discount does not appear.
